Default Revving problem?

Hi all, am new to scoobynet having just bought my first impreza. I have a 52 plate wrx. Im having a problem with the gears. They crunch sometimes, especially at high revs. I'm in contact with someone on here over buying a replacement.

But I've noticed something else with the car. Say if I put my foot down on the clutch and lift the throttle pedal off at the exact same time. It seems to take the the car half a second or so before the revs start dropping.

I don't know if it's just a trait of an impreza. Or any car in general and I'm just noticing it more because the gears crunch unless I let the revs drop. Or I have another issue aswell. Clutch? Sticky throttle pedal maybe?

Just seeing if anyone or everyone's does the same.

Scott

Mine pulls up at traffic lights and idles at 1000rpm after a few seconds it drops to 500rpm. It does this every time. A few tuners told me it was normal.

yup this is pretty standard behaviour but you can have your tuner map it out a little if you want.
