Default Close Ratio Gearbox into newage

I used to have a V1/2 Type RA, loved the close ratio gearbox it had, can I bolt one of these straight into my bugeye? (Obviously would swap the rear diff aswell)

Currently my bugeye just has standard WRX 5 speed.

Also what power are the RA boxes generally good for?

I'd say they're are like most 5 speeds reliability wise obviously depends on driving style. I think it'll bolt straight on but has a couple less bolts than the newer boxes iirc.

Gotcha, so sort of any more than 350bhp and you are on borrowed time... glad to hear that it SHOULD bolt straight on though... now just got to find one haha!

Same here, my RA @ 300bhp felt MUCH quicker than my 350bhp newage, so I'm thinking if I put the short box from RA in my newage then the extra 50bhp should account for the extra weight and it should feel somewhere as good as the old one

The TY752 boxes are not as strong as the TY754 boxes so would be a backward step in terms of longevity.

Just under 400bhp on my 5 speed on a blob eye and the box is currently fine, but as said its driving style I guess.

Although it has been up Santa Pod with that power and I plan on a track day next......

Fifth gear went awol at 320 bhp on my original RA box. As a temp fix I fitted a UK spec 5 speed and loved the top end speed but as you say the acceleration is not as good.
Ive just fitted a 6 speed box and diff from a wr1 and its pretty near perfect, first five gears are low and sixth is tall enough to be doing 80 below 4k rpm off boost.
