Default CDF fuel rails ok for decent power?

hey guys,
running 460 bhp just now and looking to upgrade my fuel system for track use, going to a external inline pump and swirl pot and parallel rail set up, looked at rcm and they are about £350, CDf seem to made decent products and there rails are £170, seem good value for money but will they support 500 horse when i go down that road?

Hi

Our rails will be perfectly suitable for that sort of power, we have them on lots of high powered cars,. we have also made custom rails for drag cars like Andy forrest subaru and JGM's car,.

Others don't actually make their own rails, hence why we can offer the quality parts at reasonable prices .

Drop me a pm and I can do you a deal

Hi there

We run on our wagon CDF fuel rails and we run 555.5bhp on those rails without the single issue, although at the time when we are bought them,Chris didn't make rails for Spec C Intake manifold(but now Chris making them for Spec C too) and Neil did make for us spacers/brackets

But yes they should easily support 500bhp

Thanks,Jura

Alyn, thread reads "CDF fuel rails ok for decent power?"

Why not start your own thread instead of high jacking one of ours... as it wouldn't be the first time

I'll be opting for cdf rails when I do my fuel system overhaul, especially as Chris has mentioned he will do a deal on them.

no idea what 'chip' your carrying around or what else you would be on about but unless your the forum 'police' i didn't realise it was against the law to post a high quality cost effective alternative, especially as the OP has already mentioned another company anyhows..........

if you have any issues then i'm easy to find behind the bike sheds in the playground

No chip at all Alyn,. as I have never said anything in the past... it's just a matter of respect I thought not to jump on other advertisers threads as it's not something I have ever done ... just seems a desperate act

nope i get on the forums very little these days and will offer sensible advice as i have always done regardless of wether i sell or not so please dont tar me with whatever brush your using

i expected far more from yourself than cheap shots as in your posts above as your way off the mark (certainly from our point of view as we have never been busier in the last 10years and have plenty of "in-house" services)

Oh dear! It's never wise to let the 'good guy' mask slip in public, whatever the perceived provocation. Potential customers are reading and judging!

The rails that Alyn mentioned are superb i bought them when Carl Davey was still in business, and if they are the same design they will be superb,i also have friends that have and run the CDF rails Jura included, who always spoke very highly of them,to be honest your in a win win situation what ever rails that you chose to get, from some of the best traders on Scoobynet.SJ.

I assume that original OP's question was not simply a question of are Chris's rails good enough but also what else is out there i.e RCM etc.

I have no experience of Chris's rails but do know a lot about the rails Alyn stocks. I have these fitted to my RA which in current spec will be 600+ bhp.
I knew Carl Davey very well, he was an engineer and also Subaru mad, he was the ultimate perfectionist and started his small business to produce products that solved issues that people like us had when modding our cars. The fuel rails are typical of what Carl produced, these were not made to just bolt to the manifold and house the injectors, he wanted to make them as light as possible and also to try and dissipate some of the heat away from the rails, that's what Carl was all about functional wasnt enough for his products they had to add benefits as well as function.

I know Carl fairly well and when he informed me that he was planning to stop making parts I put Alyn in touch with him and Alyn arranged with Carl to continue production of some of the parts Carl produced. Some have remained virtually the same others like the alternator bracket for rotated manifolds has been improved.

I have a long standing relationship with Alyn who has helped a lot with the evolution of my car. I have also bought a fair few bits from Chris.

link below to Carls site which is still there and shows the rails.

http://www.carldavey.co.uk/product.php?id=13

So to answer the OP looks like you have a few options.

I don't think that's completely fair Chris, I took from the OP's post that he was a) looking for info on your rails and b) looking for info on what else was out there, so I wouldn't take it as a CDF only thread. If it was one you started to promote a part that you were producing that would be a different matter.

That is fair enough Archie, but like I said it's not the first time that As performance has commented on threads discussing some CDF parts ,. one of which I remember starting by myself,. so it comes to a point i need to say something. Maybe a kind pm would of been better. But I don't see how I have been unfair as like I said I wouldn't of commented on someone else's thread.. OP was asking about RCM and CDF rails,. so if RCM had added their comments then that is fair enough

The way I see it you are both well respected traders within this community. You both have cross overs in your markets so its understandable that things may irk you both. I know Alyn well and know he would not have been looking to be negative about your items but purely looking to highlight his own, just as most people would expect you to do.

I think you should both have a group hug

If you are selling simlar products, it's natural for the competition (just like b&q and a hardware store next door to each other).
Competition is rife, customers will go with whichever they feel is best for them, if it's price difference then you need to sort it to keep the playing field alive.
Everyone will be wanting to sell their goods

So I suggest you put your handbags away and just crack on.
