ESL Remap - £550 iirc
Lowered Tein Springs + Whiteline top mounts fitted - £600
Map Tweak - £200
Rear lights (sti originals) £120
New TMIC - £120
CDF Pulleys - £120ish
New Rad - £30

Recouped about £150 selling old TMIC + Alloy Rad

So not too bad at about £1320

Apart from servicing and getting few dents taken out and maybe front bumper re spray, I'm not doing anything else to it. Its fast enough for me and its already been forged so for me its fine as it is

That's always the question do you buy one that someone has spent 10's of thousands of pounds on or do you build to your own spec? The later being more expensive but you haven't built it yourself and there something personal with a car you've put together but it costs a fortune to build the perfect Subaru. We must love these cars.

mine is simple :

Terzo No 281 out of 333 = £1350
New Exedy clutch 1 week later: £550
New Radiator 2 + silicone hoses + rad cap: £170
Anti Freeze 3 lots of cheap triple qx from eurocaprarts. I think about = 3x£20-£30
Finally discovered HG issue 1 month after bought car: £1850 to rebuild engine with some refurbished uprated parts.

Today bought an Apexi Power FC from ebay with controller = £250. a bit cheap so still scarred seller would change his mind.

Once I have the Apexi ecu fun starts for the 350 bhp i hope for meaning new turbo, injectors, intercooler, fuel pump etc. probably going towards the hi end of the £1000 again ...

Add 8 useless 5x114.3 pcd STI alloys 350. (i need 5x100 PCD)

this makes it 3260 for mods

car + mods = £4610

I have done so far 700 miles. this means I have paid £6.58+petrol / mile.

It is a money pit, but the smile it gives when driven is priceless.

Wow, some people are nuts

I doubt I have spent more than 6-7k in 11 years, and that includes a 2.1, brakes, weld in cage and suspension.

I've spent at least £5000 on my 97 T2000 including the price of the car. Numerous repairs/restoration/upgrade costs, had it just over a year and driven it less than 1000 miles.

what i mean with cost of the coolant is an expense because i had a failed head gasket. what happened is that i blew up first the radiator down pipe. then blew up the radiator the existing radiator. then blew up a the new radiator again. it was an expense which could have been spared if I would have diagnosed it properly or at least put water till everything is fixed. What my failed head-gasket was doing, was pushing air in the water only while on boost. and without boost there was never no bubble or smoke or any of the early hg fail. so that is £90 flushed in the toilet.

Just paid my £485 road tax my 7th annual disc (2007 WRX ) that is about £3.000. The car does ave of 25mpg that's 3040 gallons circa £18,000 in fuel about £1,500 on tyres about £1,000 on brakes and about £3,000 on dealer services that's £26,500 without 7 x circa £400 per year insurance.

That is just basic running costs, it seems a lot but it works out about 75% of my weekly £100 ish Morrisons and take away food shopping over the last 7 years would have been circa £35,400. So the up shot running a Subaru is cheaper than a bag of shopping
