Default Boost issue I think!

Out on a run out today and put my foot down and it wouldn't boost past 0.5 bar felt like it was hitting the rev limiter at 5k even sound like it was, no boost leak from pipes or vacuums I checked, it has a 3 port boost soliniod not that old, it will boost to a bar but not all the time and car is mapped to 1.5 bar just over. Dump valve seems to be opening and shutting as it should, never had this problem before any ideas lads

Capr is a version 3 type r with simtek and gt30 Owen development turbo ect .

Cheers Mark

Not sure how similar the set up is on a classic to my Bug, but I went through:
plugs;hoses;cam sensor;MAF;boost sol';cleaned air filter; neutral switch; TPS;EGR valve; and next is to check the cat is still in one piece and look at the fueling.

Broken up cat and/or over fueling are possible.

Best of luck.

Does simtek have a limp mode ? Would make sense but it will go to a bar now and again that what puzzles me tried disconnecting the battery but done nothing. Can I reset it or do I need bob Rawle to look at it again? Any reason why it would go into limp mode was just driving off boost around 60 mph when the speedo went down.

Not sure with simtec, just sounds like limp mode. V3 have the mechanical speedo converter,if yours has been done? Maybe worth taking it off to see if that's the problem

Well May speedo cable has snapped the upper bit to the clock so do you guys think this is my issue even though it's mechanical and not electronic?

Cheers
