Fuel hoses
Hi I am about to replace my fuel filter and also the fuel hoses with some AN-6 hoses and finishers (current ones are perishing/cracking)
Sorry if this is a stupid question - but can I simply loosen the hoses and replace, or do I need to do anything before hand? I understand that there will be a fair bit of pressure so need to watch out for fuel coming out - is that right?
Also I heard I need to 'prime' the system after changing the above? I assume this is done by turning the key to get the fuel pump started, and then turn off again and repeat a few times - is that correct?
Cheers all

There's a wee bit alright just make sure engine cold is one way and slowly wriggle pipe off until pressure releases when all back together prime by cycling ignition 4 or 5 times.
Yeah as above make sure its cold and it will be fine. The pressure drops over time so if the car has been off overnight there wont be much pressure left. Try and wrap the area with a bit of rag as you do it to catch the fuel as quite a bit may pour out. Also beware of just how much fuel is in the filter. They hold quite a lot!
And don't over tighten the 6AN's!
