egine warning light on after alternator change
Hi
I have just replaced the alternator on my 2004 UK sti where i disconnected the battery first ,as you would.
Have put it all back together and reconnected the battery only to find the engine warning light is now on !!
The sytem is charging nicely at 13.5-14 volts with all electrics on.
Any advice to why the engine warnig light mat be on
Appreciate any help given

Hi Ossett2k2 thank you for your help and the link to prev thread,
I have now read that thread however this was a replacement alternator from a motorfactor I dont have any way of reading the error codes so I guess my next step is to take it to a garage before i can claim the new altenator is faulty. Once again thanks for the advice.
Is there away of doing a reset with out going to the garage.
The other thought the battery was off for 24 hrs or so !! could that be an issue
The car is a 2004 STI UK with PPP
