06 STI Exhaust Centre Pipe
I am looking at changing the centre pipe on my 06 WRX STI. It isn't sitting flush with the Prodrive back box and blowing! Not the biggest deal in the world but enough to annoy me! The O-ring that fits between the centre pipe and up-pipe has seen better days also!
I was looking at replacing OEM for OEM, I'm not after any increase in noise and have just had it mapped.
How much would a replacement be from Subaru and are they still available?
If Subaru are overpriced what's my next option? I really don't want an increase in noise over the prodrive back box/silenced centre pipe noise, elderly neighbours and all
Any suggestions welcome!
Cheers!
Dave

A Deresonated Centre will set you back around £120 from an aftermarket dealer, but frequently come up for 50-80quid on these forums.
When I dropped the silencer, I felt it didn't make the system any louder - but it did change the tone. It's certainly not significant.
Every Subaru one I've seen come off a car (including my own) was more rust than it was pipe. Going for a good stainless aftermarket one I think will be the wiser choice.
You won't see any power gains/losses from a centre - and no need to tweak the map.
