Default engine change

Just wanted to know if a 00 uk turbo engine would fit straight into 98 type r shell. I know its not ideal but i already have the engine and its going perfect so might as well use it. Thanks for any replys

Yes the engine its self will. Lots of differences though. You'd need to use the 98 heads and inlet manifold etc

Why not use the complete 2000 engine, loom and brain?

Depends what you want from the car. The uk car will have less power than the type r in standard trim. So using the uk ecu, loom etc will work. But result in an underpowered car. .

Prob be better with the uk engine with there being no sul in ireland. A decent remap should get you near the power of the type r. If you know the engine and its a good one just change the whole lot.
