Got an oily liquid dripping (seeping) under dashboard near hood release. Any ideas

 

Not really much it could be from that side, is it losing brake fluid could be running back down from the peddle but brake fluid is not oily tho but does feel strange to touch.

 

Does it have gauges fitted, could be the damping oil out the gauge leaking out and down the wiring/pipework

 

Hi no it doesn't have gages. Was thinking about getting some though. Going out to service her now. Will look into the brake fluid. I haven't noticed the level dropping but then its not leaking alot. The leaver and inside of dash in that area all has a slight covering (wires too) can't be good. Thanks

 

Dont know where it could be coming from in tht area, could possibly have had the cable sprayed with a lubricant oil and its covered some of the wires, id wipe it all off and just keep an eye on it.

Took dashboard apart to day didnt really find where the leak was coming from. It's had a speedo cable as its a jap import. Is it possible for it to be coming up the cable? ?
