Default Anyone ever had a fuel air lock ?

Thats what im guessing i had, driving fine, pulled to set of lights, bluh, enegine died as if i turned ignition off, didnt splutter, just engine cut dead.

wouldnt restart or even burble as if it wanted to fire etc, so waited 10 mins, nothing still.

so, remove the fuel line from fuel filter to fuel rail, only a little bit of fuel came out, hmm, so primed the car, fuel flowed out of the pipe as it should, re-attached, broom, car fired into life and fine since.

fuel pump new etc, its a racing swrd one

weird ?!?!?!!?!?

Hi

This can be caused by the fuel tank breather being blocked and depending if you still have the carbon canister on your vehicle it could be that also.

If its a classic the canister will be a round plastic tank on drivers side of engine bay next to radiator -
If its a new age its behind the rear bumper (a plastic rectangle box)

If it happens again disconnect the pipe to this from the tank to see if it then starts.

Or the easy way to tell if its a tank breather issue is next time it happens remove your fuel filler cap and if it then starts you know where to start.

Hope this helps

If you are driving a classic MY99 or MY00 then it is probably one of the Sigma alarm immobiliser circuits activating and cutting out the fuel pump.

Send me a message if you don't want to discuss this on an open forum how to solve this problem.
