Please HELP! Noise coming from offside front wheel!
Hi All,
I'm hoping someone can help me with a noise I have coming from around the offside front wheel on my 2007 Impreza WRX Estate 2.5.
It started a few weeks ago & sounds like a very loud creeking noise.
It tends to only happen when turning to the left but it has got louder & louder.
A friend who tinkers with cars/bikes had a look & couldn't see anything obvious so he greased up the suspension joints & said to give that a couple of weeks & see if it helped but unfortunately it hasn't.
I took it to a friends garage yesterday & to my annoyance when I took it out to let them hear the noise it magically stopped even though it had done it all the way there! Anyhow, they had a look & have WD40'd the bushes behind both front wheels as they looked a bit rusty & the noise didn't reappear on my way home.
Unfortunately when I've driven to work this morning it has started again.
Does anyone have any clues what this might be? When the garage looked under it yesterday there was nothing lose or hanging off but I am still really concerned.
Thanks

I'm no expert by my money would be on the anti roll bar bushes/drop links.
The weight of someone in the passenger seat might answer why it didn't do it with the guy from the garage in the car.
Do what most Impreza owners do and turn the stereo volume up

Thanks Reef. They did mention the anti roll bar bushes yesterday so you could be right.
It has been making the noise with my husband in the passenger seat so I'm not sure about the weight thing though.
The noise is getting that loud the stereo won't be able to drown it out soon .
Do you know what sort of cost it would be to replace the bushes and/or drop links?

Not sure on price for your year of car.
I did the droplink's on my Classic a few years ago, they cost £100 or so to buy and I fitted them myself.
Don't get too het up about it, it doesn't sound serious to me
If your stereo doesn't cover it, you need a new speakers...... or a sub.

Our friend could probably fit them so perhaps I'll look into cost. Are they a specialist part? Where did you buy yours?
I know I should probably chill but my car is like my 2nd child :-)
