Default running issue

hi, got a my97 turbo 2000 remapped by simon at jolly green monster, it has a 3 port boost solenoid, rcm 340 fuel pump, esl board, sti v3 top mount intercooler, blitz induction kit & bov and catback exhaust. car was running fine for 3 months or so then i decided to go turboback exhaust so got the decat pipe had it fitted and it ran fine for about 5-6 weeks but not had the map tweaked for it... but now my car is running very badly and im wondering if its this that has caused the problem as nothing else has changed... the problem it has is it stutters and chugs while accelerating and stinks of fuel, it can be driven very carefully keeping the revs low and slow steady acceleration. ive had it looked at by my a mechanic mate, we changed the maf (2nd hand ebay), cleaned out iacv and new engine temperature sensor, coilpack ht leads and spark plugs are all fine to. he said he doesnt think it has a vacuum leak he thinks its over fueling some how also did ecu resets each time, it was also idling up and down but hasnt done it since the last ecu reset. then i took it to a garage and they couldnt find anything wrong with it... im going to put it back to the catback exhaust to see if it solves the problem but ive heard of lots of people running full decat exhausts without remaps with no issues... anybody got any idea what it could be or had the same problem...

Was it mapped with the MAF plugged in or MAFless?

Needs mapping for the decat. You may have damaged something running it unmapped for the decat. Hopefully not.

I think yours was mapped with maf as was fairly standard car, will check. If its maf issue then switching mafless on and remapping for new mods would sort.

yeh it was mapped with the maf still on, so if i come to you you can map the decat in and make it mafless... do you think thats what is causing my running issue?
