I run Nos, it's fantastic, great big smiles when I use it, gives loads of extra torque, power, gets rid of turbo lag,

If I was you, just stick with the flamer kit, you will have to remove your cats,

Nos will destroy your engine, gearbox,

Banny knows plenty
He's just a bit taken aback by your question, as am I.
Nitrous oxide certainly isn't your first port of call when it comes to Impreza tuning.
Spend some time on here, pay particular attention to the projects section and you'll pick up some very useful information.

Just leave it alone mate. NOS is really not a first step on an Impreza. It's more a final step and will likely ruin your car if you just fit a kit and hope for the best. Don't drill holes in anything. We don't tend to "chip" we remap. But you will want some basic mods before the remap to get the most from it.... You need to learn a whole lot more about these cars before doing anything. Or just take it to a Subaru specialist and say "here is x amount of money. Spend it on what ever you recommend to make it go faster".

Oh and yes people are going to take the ****.

Jay, a lot of guys are against flames coming out of exhausts,
I love them, but you will need to remove your cats for this to work, even with a flamer kit,
Do not get your car chipped,
You will need to work out what money you have to spend, and what power you can run with your car without destroying your gearbox, as that is your weak link, max and still staying reliable is 300 if your going to drive your car hard,
300bhp in a road classic will be a very very fast car, you will keep up with most other on the road
255 fuel pump, cold air intake, an ecu that can be mapped and you will be looking at about 280bhp ish,
Ask your mapper for pops and bangs with flames,, he will more than likely roll his eye, but I am sure he will do this for you,

Nos is the final step and you will require a forged built engine and a 6 speed box to cope with all the smiles that Nos will give, and for a road car it's not to advisable, even trackdays you will not require nos,

FMJ has pointed out a few good things to do,

But don't let people put you of by taking the P/55
It will happen, as everyone as different ideas,

Banny knows his Subarus and if you do want any advice, he will be able to help you out no end, very knowledgable man

As for a Mapper down your way, Simon JGM will look after you

Good look with what you do bud

Bez

No offence but I did think this was a **** take,Used to be on passion ford for a while and get pi$$ takes like this.

If you have been on passion ford MO comes to mine.

If your "genuine" you have come to the right place so any advice you hear from your local mcdonalds ignore.

I heard NOS can blow the welds on your intake?

I'd echo Martyn's comment, spend some time on the projects section.

I'm sorry but this has got to be a p!ss take.

Yeah, fit nos, drill holes, paint it purple, slam it to the deck, get some 'pimp'in' sound system fitted and the hussies will be at your feet dear boy.

On the other hand, if you are serious, you are right. You clearly know **** all about cars, so leave it to the experts. But not knowing much about cars leaves you open to a good 'rodgering' from any suspect tuner.

Post the chassis number on here (located on the silver id plate in the engine bay) and we will tell you exactly what Impreza you have.

Then, confirm what you want from the car and how much spare cash you have to throw at it to achieve your requirements.

And lastly, stop watching the fast and furious!

Chassis code. Then we can confirm exactly what car you have.
But generally, yes, the UK car will have 218bhp as standard and the import of that year will be 240bhp.

But can I suggest that refrain from 'text' type posts as people will assume you are lazy and will therefore not respond.

You are new to the forum, please show a little respect to those who are trying to help you, that's all we ask.

I'd steer clear of the text talk, it is hard to read and upsets a few on here .

Everyone has to start somewhere, but sometimes its best to just read up on a few things beforehand.
If it's a WRX import then changing your injectors, Decat'ing from the downpipe and the centre section and possibly a front mount intercooler should see you closer to 300bhp. But, importantly a remap would be required which would mean a new ECU and mapping session which could cost close to what you've just paid for the car.
