Default recommended oil for rebuilt engine running in

Hello
I am presently getting an engine rebuilt 2.1 stroker. I have some Miller's 10w60 but do I put that straight in or a different oil for running in ? Any recommendations ?
Cheers
Kris

Talk to the builder of your engine and ask for his recommendation, usually it's just a basic mineral based oil for engines.SJ.

As above use a mineral oil for the initial running in period. Millers sell a mineral running in oil

After speaking to Paul B. I ran my Zen motor in on Halfords cheap chip oil.

1 check with your builder

2 Do not use any synth oil during the break in.

I recommend SAE40 for first 100 km. change after 100km and then switch to a high quality dino oil.

Then at 2500km , put in what you need

All depends on the tolerances
On a standard engine - mineral oil
On a more expensive forged lump with tight tolerances - you can use Semi Synthetic

Do what your builder recommends
Running in mileage varies
It is important to put the engine under load during running in.

Cheap oil and light driving for 50/100 miles

Drop it out, decent oil in and let it have it.

1000 miles later drop oil refresh and happy days

Never failed.
