Default Exhaust question

Without sounding like a hooligan, BLU is too damn quiet. I'm not planning on touching headers etc, just the back end.

My idea is this - replace the oval tip with a 4" japstyle and leave off the rear silencer box.

My question, will this be ridiculously loud - or just give me that (louder) note I'm looking for?

You'll be able to hear for yourselves at the Southend run on the 7th....

I have an Vortex Afterburner back box and that's fairly loud without being OTT. If I took out the silencer that sits ahead of the back box then it would be VERY loud.

I've got an Apexi N1 thats off the car. You'e welcome to give that a try if you like.
Its a Jap style 4.5". It is loud I think. I've only had it running on a car that had no intercooler or air box on, and a big hole in the block. So it was either loud because of that, or loud because it is loud.

Very nice Dan.

I've booked her in for next Saturday. Going to run it with the rear silencer box off and make a decision about what to fit after that.

See you all Saturday night then hopefully.

I have a Japanese kakimoto racing rear box with removable bung. I have best of both worlds, hooligan loud or more reserved for hangover days or early morning starts.

That's my only concern. Waking up most of Billericay at 7.30 every morning.

I'll play it by ear, literally, so to speak. This will be bespoke made anyway so I can probably tailor it a bit.

I'll probably go loud, and get him to make me a bung up in case I need stealth mode.

One final question before fitting tomorrow all. 3 inch or 4 inch exit?

Will it have much impact on the volume / tone do you reckon?

Hmmmm. The bloke with a v8 Capri with a new full system on it has just listened to BLU and said "you're going to break Windows with that setup"
Wonder if I've gone a bit toooo loud. Oops.

I think the police attention you received last night confirms your diagnosis. Although, the short sharp bursts in front of the police Mondeo on the A127 en route to Southend might have helped...

Almost a week has passed. I'm definite that it's far too loud and the wrong note. Removing the rear silencer has given it a very harsh sound. It's a shame but I thought I'd try it.
More advice needed. My option is to go back and have a rear silencer refitted. Or is there any other option anyone can think of?
All opinions and suggestions welcomed. Thanks in advance guys.

When you say rear silencer do you mean the box next to the tip at the very end of the zorst?

Yes mate. It's essentially straight through, rear box was removed.
