Default Waltham Abbey Car Show Sunday 26th May

I noticed that this show is taking place soon, have never been before and it's probably not a very grand event, mainly classic car owners I think and last year there were some GTR's as well. As this is literally on my doorstep (Waltham Abbey is jct 26 off M25) I enquired about it and the organiser is more than happy to have some subaru's along; there is a cost of £5 per show car which is divided between 3 charities, Help for Heroes, NSPCC, and Essex Air Ambulance.

It's an open air event at a local leisure park, there's food and drink and also some trade stands apparently, if the weather's nice it could be an enjoyable day, or there's plenty of pubs in the vicinity where we could have a nice lunch

I will probably go myself anyway as it's so near but would be nicer to have some company - anybody interested? If so I will let the organiser know to reserve us a space! And sort out exact times/ meeting place etc

BTT with this one.

Have spoken again to the organisers and they're not worried how many (or few!) of us there are, said just turn up on the morning. Is open to the public at 9am so thought of getting there around 8.30, can meet in the nearby car park of Waltham Abbey Tesco, if anyone interested let me know

Oh that's good, not gonna be on my own then
I guess if the forecast nearer the time is rainy/cold it might be best to forget it, otherwise will definately go ahead.
Be good to meet you Steve if you can make it
Will put up directions to Tesco later, it's less than 5 mins away from jct 26 of M25, then the car show is literally a couple of mins from there

That's a shame as you are so near, but as far as I'm aware it's just a one day event

No worries, I think we'll all be waiting till Sat night night to see what the weather's goung to be!

For whoever's coming , I thought we'd meet in Waltham Abbey Tesco's carpark at 8.30, postcode EN9 1NP (although I have heard that satnavs have trouble with that postcode and send people in the wrong direction ) - basically come off M25 at jct 26, at roundabout go straight over (second exit) onto A121 (Dowding Way), this is a stretch of dual carriageway about 3/4 miles long, a roundabout at end of that take 3rd exit (Sewardstone Rd) , past cemetery on rt , then turn rt into Tesco's. There is a Tesco petrol station but it doesn't do Momentum

Nice one Lorraine

Weather is looking dry atm on BBC weather

But that could change to snow and high winds by sun with our UK weather

Where is the actual event held Lorraine ?

As GF may be popping over later on in the morning

I might not have time to get on here till late tomorrow night, think have been given some tickets for international tattoo convention at Alexandra Palace (don't ask! ) so may be late back, but, unless weather is totally dire, I will be at Waltham Abbey Tesco at 8.30 Sunday am

ESOC members , lets show a little more support for this

Some good charities being supported at this event , Essex air ambulance, NSPCC , and most importantly , help for hero's

And after the sickening events of this week our support should be overwhelming

Weather is going great , venue looks great , so what's stopping you ???

If anyone wants to convoy from southend way , let me know

Lorraine ..... Was just looking at other websites and what other clubs were doing time wise , and it seems that doors don't open till 10 , and many ppl are meeting up at 9 and convoying down there.

So shall we meet up at tescos at 9 instead , seeing that we are only 5 mins away

Pete ..... I'll pop past services at 8.40 to see if your there

I'm leaving Chelmsford about 9 mate, could meet you somewhere in Chelmsford and then head off? Ill warn you now though.....I drive at literally 60mph or so along the motorway. A JDM combined with a full miltek system drives you nuts at anything over 60 lol!!

Yeh sure, the flyer I've got says doors open to the public at 9 but I don't imagine many people will be beating down the gates at 9am.........
So 9 it is then I've been out all day and only had time for the quickest of car cleans so hope it will be OK in the daylight..........see you all in the morning

P.S was thinking that in the light of this week's events our charity for the October tunnel run should be Help for Heroes this year, I had a brother in the army (RIP) so would be doubly significant for me........but we can decide that nearer the time
