1573 Miles...A Holiday...and some new struts
Well just got back from a week visiting family on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland. I decided to drive this year, long haul but definitely worth it once you see the roads on this island
Anyway, heres just a few pictures of what we went to see, although again the drive in the north of Scotlands mainland was truly epic! for which i've many photos, but i'll let you see for yourself as they really don't justify it
Butt of Lewis lighthouse
Cliffs at the lighthouse
The jaw bone of a whale caught off the island
Callanish Standing Stones - very like stonehenge
Scooby on the ONLY bridge in the world that crosses the Atlantic ocean
One of the many beaches the girlfriend had to visit, was fricking cold
The roads only got better than this
Also got a new front & rear strut brace for my birthday

The jawbone was from an 82ft blue whale, apparently their on average 75-100ft so not abnormally big, think its coated with some resin type stuff to preserve it. Just strange there isn't any on view like that anywhere else.
I could've taken more photos of the car, just was so coated in salt and crap it was shameful lol

They used to have a whale jawbone like that on top of a hill in North Berwick just outside Edinburgh. They had to change it though because it was falling apart. Guess they didn'tytreat it which is a shame. They now have a replica.

Nice.
I took my scoob up to Scotland a few years back (Stirling, Loch Lomond, Glen Coe, Fort William areas) the roads are amazing.
The Lake district is another area I would recommend venturing out in the scoob.

The Fort William and Central areas do have some fantastic roads, I'd never driven really far up north before and have to say their so much better!!! I'm sure a certain club do a run up to the highlands once a year, I can definitely see why lol
Knotty no excuse needed, theres beaches a plenty if that helps persuasion lol, was certainly one of my bargaining tools
