Default Wanted:Bug STI ppp

Hi peeps,

I'd rather put this in the club forum than the site-wide wanted if that's ok?

Following the recent and flame-filled death of my classic I'm in the process of replacing her with someting different.

Idealy looking for a Bug STI PPP (I like the bugs, don't kill me for it!).

Not looking for a minger or a "WRX with STI Upgrades". JDM's are ok if there are any around?

Prefer Black or white.

Not that I'm fussy

Based in Boreham but obviously willing to travel a bit if its a sensible car.

Good ones are hard to come by really mate. I know of the mintest blob eye STI around but it's a higher budget. £14.5K.
2.35 motor, ap brakes exetc suspension, no expense spared 470bhp/460lbsft

Never seen rain and only 33k miles. Based in Sudbury.

Bugeye STIs are underrated mate.

I love how they have aged, compared to some of the others. They seem to have the mix of newage but a bit raw like the classic.

My thoughts eactly..and since I'm replacing a reasonable classic it's exactly what I want. Their are loads of vastly overpriced POS's out there and lots being broken but nothing in between

I actually went to see that one mate - it wasnt as good as it should have been for that money tbh. It wasn't "bogging" but wasnt far off it.

Needed some tyres and and other stuff to be expected on a 10 yr old car. However he neglected to mention the CEL despite two phone calls (he'd even warmed it up before I got there, I suspect in the hope that the cel would go away)

if the guy had been prepared to drop the price accordingly I would have still been interested but when I'd previously asked what his bottom price was he said £5850 so I walked away in disgust when I saw the nice red shiny CEL.

Buyer beware and all that but I get seriously upset when people try to mug me off.

Alarm bells are ringing if he warmed the car up before you got there - my first impression is that the car has piston slap

I bought a scanguage II about 2 weeks ago, would have been handy to plug in to see what fault codes were being thrown up, could have been something minor (but he wouldn't need to know that).

All good comments guys but in all seriousness - the fact that the tw*t was trying to hide it in the first place meant I wasnt interested.

Not too many years ago I would've lamped him and walked off but I'm in my late 40's now and have learned a bit more self control ^_^
