*** ESC Tunnel Run 2012 - ROUTE ***
****** ESC TUNNEL RUN 2012 ROUTE ********
This is the official 2012 Tunnel Run Route Thread
The whole route had to be split up into 3 sections as the maximum no. of way points a TomTom can handle per route is 42.
So I split the route up into 3 routes at the Re-Group points throughout the night.
ORDER OF ROUTES & TIMES LEAVING
Google map links provided
Tunnel Run - Route 1 - M25 Servs to McDonalds (Peninsular Park) Re-Group Via A13 ( North of the Thames ) - LEAVING M25 SERVS AT - 9pm
Route 1 ....... http://goo.gl/maps/PNZ22
Route 2 is totally optional - If you feel like you have had enough for the night, or you have sleepy children needing there beds, then feel free to leave after the McDonalds Re-Group
If you still feel the need to pollute the atmosphere a little more , then join us for part 2 + 3 of the Tunnel Run
Tunnel Run - Route 2 - McDonalds Re-Group - Tunnels - London Bridge - Westferry Circus Re-Group - LEAVING McDONALDS AT - 11PM
Route 2 ........ http://goo.gl/maps/6DpW3
Tunnel Run - Route 3 - Westferry Circus to M25 Services - Finish - Via A2 ( South of the Thames ) - LEAVING WESTFERRY CIRCUS AT - 12.15 - 12.30AM
Route 3 ........ http://goo.gl/maps/eoyw2
PLEASE TAKE NOTE !!!!!!!!
That the route is different form previous years ! So please take time to study the new aspects of the route.
Download the file ( Take note of where it is going to be saved on your PC, ie. C:\Users\(username)\Downloads )
Unzip the file in it's current location , or <RIGHT> Click it, and drag to a free space on your Desktop , then select 'Unzip\Extract here'
It will unzip nicely into a foldered structure within the main folder "Tunnel Run 2012" where there are folders for Garmin Files, TomTom Files, Printed Route Files, Google Earth Files
In each folder there is a READ-ME.txt file which contains instructions on how to use the TomTom , Garmin , and Google Earth files.
Google Earth files are well worth a look, you can load up the route into Google Earth , and Play the path and virtually drive the Tunnel Run route
It's just a shame you don't virtually go through the tunnels :-( But it very good for getting to know your bearings around the route :-D
It's advised to read the printed route details to , as there is lots of guided information in there to make sure your journey runs as smooth as possible !
3 types of printed document to choose from
(.doc) file - Microsoft Word Document
(.rtf) file - Microsoft WordPad Document
(.txt) file - For those of you still living in the stone age :P
Download the " Tunnel Run 2012 " Folder from here
http://www.sendspace.com/file/jjhq7z
It's only a 1.3 Mb downlaod size, So it will be downloaded in a flash
Please click the download link highlighted in RED ! As if you click any of the other links , it will want you to install some download software !
A BIG NO NO NO !!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION !
Please be on your best behaviour when parked up at the M25 services , and at McDonalds car park (Peninsular Park)
We lost Billingsgate Market car park location due to the stupidity of a few idiots :-(, And a few others that couldn't be arsed to walk 100 yards to the toilet !
Toilets will be available at McDonalds and Asda at (Peninsular Park)
ALSO NO flame testing, burnouts, or idiotic behaviour please ! We don't want to lose this location for next year !
Please have your (4x £1 ) Coins ready for the tolls! This is so we can get loads of scoobs thru the tolls, a fast as possible for the run back thru Dartford Tunnel
(As of 7th October Dartford Toll Crossing will be increasing to £2) !
Try and keep to the 6 left hand side toll booths once you've crossed QE2 Bridge, as we're taking the VERY 1st exit off, to loop back round for the tolls
for the Dartford Tunnel !
***** Basic itinerary of each route *****
Route 1 ( LEAVE AT 9PM ) - M25 Servs > QE2 Bridge > Dartford Tunnel > A13 to Docklands > East India Dock Tunnel > Limehouse link tunnel > Rotherhithe Tunnel x2 > Limehouse Link Tunnel >

That's bloody brilliant Ron, well done
Also to let people know that the charity this year is The Burned Children's Club - it's a local charity based in Basildon for children who have been badly burned and disfigured, giving them and their families psychological and practical support, also arranging days out and burn camps with other children from around the country. Compared to some of the more well known charities it's a fairly small operation which was started in 1995 by a worker at Billericay Burns Unit, but from what I can see they do some great work and will be worthy recipients of our support.

Hi steve,
Pulled this from the net .....
Tom Tom Technical, these are the following satnavs they recommend for the use of Itinerary planning.
They recommend the best ones to use are the Go Live range.
And any of the ones in the list below, which all use Tom Tom home.
Version 1 2nd addition
1XL
1XL HD Traffic
X30 service
XL IQ Routes
XXL IQ Routes Classics
XL Live IQ Routes
1 IQ Routes
ANY Go Live 50 Range
So i'm guessing your can do it ??
But then you might have done what i done ,
i updated my TomTom One from v7 software to v8 , i did have itinerary planning in v7 , but lost it went i upgraded to v8
And it's a geeky nightmare to get it back to v7
Thought i was supposed to be upgrading not downgrading
Not sure what to suggest for ya fella
Give TomTom a ring see what they have to say
