Such a shame
It won't stop the hardcore car groups going though
(I think)

Was thinking of popping along to this one but waiting on our weather expert Kev D

I came along the seafrontyesterday on my way home, and rhybeck is right, I was queued all the way from the casino all the way to the Kursaal as the Kursaal traffic lights were only letting through 4-5 cars on each sequence.

As I had plenty of time to actually look at what they are doing to the seafront, I just cannot work out where the parking is going to be now outside the arcades (where it used to be) and also, how lovely the new paving will look after a few louts have spat their chewing gum out onto the floor.

I thought that the area outside the arcades is going to pedestrian only. The one lane each way is all that traffic is going to get i think.

What a change to a few years ago

2 days prior to the June Posers cruise and only 3 cars on the list. A few years back would have seen over 30 cars on that list by now.

Looks like it's going to be a VERY busy seafront on Sat night. VXRO will be down at the Seafont from 7pm onwards with 20 plus VXR's - so should make for a fun evening.

I went to the April one and there were only about 10 cars there on the night! Seems like the activity across the whole of scoobynet has dropped off lately.

Get ya names down then

think the car seen in general is dieing, seems to be getting fewer and fewer peeps at shows in general now and even motorsport events but saying that Japfest was rammed so there might be hope perhaps people are choosing to only attend the big events as cash is so tight at the mo????

Scoobs run on thin air then? seriously though 16mpg from my Scoob and petrol at 1.20+ a litre means I'd rather stay in and spend the money on my kids. Just my view.

this is'nt a dig, snide comment or being funny just an observation but i think the vw scene has a lot of younger peeps who mostly live with thier parents and all they live for and pay out for is thier car and have a bit more disposable income, where as the subaru owner is probly more than likely to be a home owner and parent so has a little less income?? might be wrong and like i said not being nasty just an observation

this is'nt a dig, snide comment or being funny just an observation but i think the vw scene has a lot of younger peeps who mostly live with thier parents and all they live for and pay out for is thier car and have a bit more disposable income, where as the subaru owner is probly more than likely to be a home owner and parent so has a little less income?? might be wrong and like i said not being nasty just an observation
yea i totaly agree last night there was alot of young guys there but that was just an example we go to car shows all the time all over the place and loads of different cars being there and must say there still just as packed but it seems to be with the scooby scene theres a lot of people that cant afford the running cost we no of 3people just where we live that had theres less than a year because they coudnt afford it.i wanted a high performance car since i was 18yrs old but waited till i was in a position and older till i got one i look at it if you cant afford it dont get it!im a mummy and my little boy comes before my car but he gets involved and loves coming to cruises if he didnt i wouldnt go.but it just seems to be all you hear people geting rid of there scoobys.

i know what you mean about peeps selling scoobs, i've noticed it alot in the 3yrs since i've had mine alot around where i live appear for a while then you hear they have sold them TBH honest if i had to use mine as a daily driver i would struggle now, i found it tight when i was sharing a house with 2 of my mates, but now got a daily driver and only use the impreza as a toy

I think that's the way forward now...I used to use my Bugeye as a daily driver, but it drove me nuts spending all that time and money on it just to worry about where I parked because I knew some hater would drag a key across it.

Now my new toy stays in the garage under dust sheets so that when I do take it out, I get that sense of occasion.

The only reason I haven't been to a meet in a while is i'm STILL waiting for carbon fiber products that I ordered back in February!! Well, I got 2/3rds and fitted them but I don't want to turn up to a cruise half finished...:brickwal l
