Sponges are for numpties!

To the general punter off the street I pretty much have jacked it in. Too many people want top detailing for valeting prices. If someone is happy to pay for someone who has jumped on the detailing band wagon and is doing paint correction by hand or using a machine without a paint gauge the fair doos. But there's just not the mark up to do a top quality job with the right kit and insurances to make a decent living. If a copy set up right is happy to charge a minimal amount and still do a top job then good luck to them.

However I'll always be available for club members.

Detail Ltd have a new well lit unit in Stortford, and the guy there is an ex show detailer, fully insured and charges top whack. he dont seem to have trouble finding business, so there must be good money work out there somewhere....

i guess its a full time gamble, but so is life ....

you should look at doing it matt, its what you're good at mate

I never mentioned anything against them In particular dazza. just generalising about the detailing scene now. Being in a unit is one thing but mobile is another. I've got too much to at stake if it doesn't work out. A mariage and 2 kids don't come cheap.

Anyway how come your getting someone else to do your car now? You bought all the kit and was helping abw out? Must be earning too much

Part timer

must still cost a pretty penny though. Or at least a fair bit more than the bosos used to charge you.

Fair play though. If you work hard why not treat yourself!

never used bosos, me and dunlop dave used to use the camaroon footie team in brentwood post house hotel for the odd sunday morning spray down, they were well trained, but unfortunately shut up shop

to be honest, with all the dusty rain and stuff lurking about, its a bit soul destroying at the moment, but hopefully the volcanos will behave and the onset of the guaranteed draught, might make things abit more bearable !!

roll on the summer.

Quick to Graham for the Corsa, picked it up at the weekend and the lady friend managed to drive it home without issue. Thanks very much fella.

Good to meet you and catch up with Stu, Dazza and co... Been a while since I've seen you chaps.

Graham - let me know if you want me to bring those Godspeed discs and I will post up some pics so you know what they are like...
