Which lens were you using? and with or without tripod?

The 50mm would be for getting so close, or the 400mm without a tripod would be

It was the 'nifty fifty' 50mm. A superb lens.

A good place to feed squirrels close up is Lake Meadows. They may not sit on you like that but they will come and take food out of your hand.
