Default 1stchoicedrainage.com

Woke up this morning and noticed that the drain cover in my back garden had water surrounding it and what looked like bits of toilet paper

Why do these things have to happen on a bank holiday

Waiting till Tuesday was not an option so had to call someone out to fix it. As it is good Friday I was not expecting anyone to come today and that we'd have to wait till Saturday at the earliest

That would be 24 hours of not going to the toilet, washing clothes or using the dishwasher. I was thinking of just getting a last minute flight and waiting till I returned to get it sorted.

I gave 1st Choice Drainage a call and asked if they were working today. Told him my drains were blocked and I needed someone bad. To my amazement he came round, on a bank holiday, within 30 minutes.

On the website it states that he charges a maximum of £89-00 so seemed resaonable but wasn't sure what the cost would be for a bank holiday.

He arrived and asked a number of questions that I had no idea about.

It turns out after looking in all my neighbours drains that my house is the 1st in line and that my waste goes through 4 other houses before draining to the mains.. the blockage wasn't actually with me but because everyone else was blocked it backed up to mine

So he unblocked 5 different houses, on a bank holiday, and spent about 2 hours in total. Oh, and it stank big time

He gave me the bill and from a quick look while he was writing it upside down it looked like £589.... horrendous but given the quick call out I wasn't surprised

Imagine my surprise when he handed it to me and upon closer inspection it turned out to be £89-00

Even better 1 of the neighbours agreed to go half (the other cant's ignored the problem ).

Hugely professional service, really nice chap and what a great price.

If you've got blocked drains the 1stchoicedrainage.com is the place I would recommend

Based in Wickford but covers all of Essex.

Cool. My neighbour has some concrete deposits in our mains under his extension, as a result of his extension. he is halfway down the block and all flows through his etc down the line. If we use anything but value bog roll the bugger gets blocked. With some encouragement he has invested in some rods amazingly he only ever has to use about 4 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! Someone up the road had a relative with a baby stay and a simple baby wipe is enough to hang and cause blockage !!!! Nasty.

Get your domestos out Chris, lot's of horrible germs in them drains

dont we all dave??? lol

am sure it was these guys that came out to us to start with, on a sunday, when the tw@ts doing the road works had smashed through our pipes and blocked them up. He also was a really nice guy, didnt even take the drink money i offered him because even though he told us what the problem was, he couldnt clear the blockage. we ended up having a tanker out drain what was in there then the dicks had to come back dig up the road again and repair the drain.
