Rear Brake disc on a my00 classic
i have just replaced my discs and pads on the rear, i just took it round the block and it seems to have a rubbing noise, which kinda goes away if i apply the handbrake. as the pads havent worn in yet the handbrake does not work 100% yet,
is this noise normal? as they havent bedding in yet?
or
have a missed out something im meant to do with the handbrake side of things.
cheers

did you clean up the sliders and stuff? might be sticking a wee bit.
shouldn't rub though under slow driving (see how it is after a week or so)

did you replace the shoes Darc?
always worth giving them a rub over with course emery and also the inside of the hubs, as seb suggests

old shoes aint bedded in to the new discs! even though the shoes are only for the handbrake they will still eventually bed into the old discs,so now they dont match the new discs if that makes sense???
give it a week and sometimes gently apply handbrake at slow speed to help bed them in, then readjust handbrake!
also did you slacken off the 10mm nut at handbrake lever before adjusting the shoes through backplate? you should slacken that off, adjust shoes through backplate then readjust 10mm nut to take slack out the cable!
then again this may have nothing to do with the noise, without hearing it you cant say what it is!! from experiance at work and your description id say this is what it is!
