Best place for Goodyear F1's?
In need of some new rubber, anyone recommend the best place for Goodyear F1's?
Otherwise I guess I will go to Elite in rainham again.

Was going to but I've heard good things about the F1's and I've already got one brand new one so it's cheaper/easier to just get 3 more F1's rather than 4 Vredesteins.

Last time I priced us tyres (though they were Toyo's) Leigh tyres could not even get close to Camskill.
I was advised that Camskills price was about the cost he was buying them in at
I am in need of a change of tyres myself, and have not worked out what I want to try.
Was thing the Vred's myself, but have heard they are not so good on track, and was told to give the RE070's a go ....... Hmmmm decisions

You could always try pm ing M444gy over on the Msoc southern ask him for prices on what you want he runs a tyre shop. Always gives you another option or maybe just a price to beat someone else up with

I found the F1's were prone to alot of understeer, didn't realise how much till I changed to Toyo's. Virtually doubled the front end grip when I did.

I used Camskill to get tyres for my van mate. I prefered the vreds to the F1s, so could be worth selling the one F1 you have and getting 4 new Vreds.
If youre keeping your stock rims then id buy RE070s over anything else out there. Not even the Vreds come close.
I just wish i could get 070's for my 18s

I have just priced up RE070 from Elites through Ebay against Camskill , camskill work out at £432.20 inc postage and Elites will work out at £441.80 inc FREE DELIVERY so £9 cheaper over 4 tyres .......... Unless a call to Camskill can lower that a bit more, as it is not a great saving over 4 when you consider you have to get them fitted, and you may use Elites for fitting anyway ?

Thanks for all the input!
RE070's......are they better than Vreds in the wet as well?

But i personally dont find them bad in the wet at all. They come as standard on the Sti which is regarded as an all weather AWD car so theyre not exactly dangerous at all.
They can be a little slippy in the damp when brand new and not scrubbed in. If you buy them now, you'll have them for summer. So by the time winter comes, they will be nicely used.
In the dry, you wont find anything better for road use. The more you push them, the better they get mate.
Also be aware that your ride will be firmer due to a much stiffer sidewall on the 070. This is partly what makes them so good.
Also factor in £40 for getting tyres fitted to any mail order price you find.
Your call.
