Great program on ESPN Classic every week day..... "Formula 1 Retro".... One hour program featuring highlights from each year from the seventies. Some great footage and funny as hell to watch all the lack of H&S. Sorry I didn't post sooner (Mondays prog is 1974) only just watched the 1971 episode and thought I needed to share the info. Set the Sky+ for 6:00am Monday morning.

Couple of facts I didn't know from 1971.... First ever use of fully slick tyres, and Lotus trying out a gas turbine powered 4wd F1 car Which was rubbish.

I see what you mean about H & S love the position of the oil cooler one stone and who needs Brylcream. Where`s all the side head protection, when men were men etc. I once sat in Nigel mansells championship winning F1 car the blue and yellow camel liveried car ( must of been in the nineties ) He is shorter than me but could`nt believe how exposed you were just imagine doing 200mph and the wind straight onto the front of your helmet no wonder their necks were wider than their heads LOL
