ESC Photography workshop - Saturday 6th February
I wonder if there would be any interest in a photography workshop for beginners?
I know that most of you have camera's and not everyone has the time or inclination to go out and explore what they can do. I know of one person in particular who brought all the gear but still doesn't have any idea
This will be open to everyone adults and ESC Juniors regardless of whether it's a full blown DLSR or a simple point and click.
The idea is that we will meet and then travel to a small location. You will then be free to wander off by yourself for a few hours (yes it takes that long) and Dazza, myself and a few others will wander around and give the benefit of our advice, make some suggestions and possibly lend some kit (if you are a canon user).
The benefit of a small location is that we should be able to get round to everyone and it also helps to focus your mind. Something too large will give you too many possibilities.
It will be a wooded area so warm clothing you don't mind getting muddy is essential and bring a flask. You should be able to take some excellent photos using light/shadow, colour, B&W, repetitive patterns, flora, fauna and use macro, wide or zoom lenses.
We can have a friendly competition at the end if you want, split between adults and juniors. Look at submitting a maximum of 3 shots.
Would this be of any interest to you? Get your names down if so........ don't be put off thinking you don't have the right kit amazing shots can be taken with a point and click too.

Biggest piece of advice I can impart is to plan where you are going and draw up a simple storyboard of the shots you want to take. This way you plan all your composition in advance and it makes for a better shoot on the day. Have fun peeps. Would love to join you but a bit too close to the baby arriving to be out all day.

unless printing about A4, you wont see any difference (and certainly not when producing webready jpg format at 800 x 600
this was taken on a S3000 ....

Nice pic Dazza, The camera cost me £250 about 3 years ago and was about middle of the range, I think it'll do most things in your and Milamber's masterclass
I want to take pics of my 1/24 scale models for my website so the close up (Macro??) section will be of great interest.
Not sure what some of the features do, so am looking forward to this
