Couldn't have matched the wheels in properly, isn't gold a soft metal, they wouldn't have stayed very round for long!!
Or may they were, but he parked it in the wrong place (maybe outside Toys R Us) and lost them...................

they are called something like 'body wraps' and used to stop stone chips killing the paint on these rallys. When the rally is over they peel off
Saw them a few years ago on the Gumball Rally. Evidently gold is this years colour for them.
