Default stick on number plates are they ilegal?

does anyone know the real truth as to if a stick on number plate is ilegal please?

Can't be illegal, when i got my CTR a few years ago it came brand new from the Dealers with stick on plates. They were a pain in the **** getting them off to put my private plate on

I might be wrong but I think the original post is about the actual plates being stick on rather than being stuck on with sticky pads etc...

sounds like from what DVLA say then stick on plates are not legal, ive had enough tickets for plates so wont chance getting anymore, thanks guys

As long as the white background is reflective,the numbers are the correct size & correct space apart.cant see any problem,im sure one of our friends from the boys in blue here could shed some light on this
You could alway remove the front spots & put a square plate on the passenger side & use the drivers side for cold air inlet or a train horn

im sure unless you do somethin stupid to get pulled over i reacon they wont batter an eye lid at a stick on plate

hi m8 , iv ad loads off agro with the police over this and the outcome was a stick on plate is perfectly ok as long as positioned central on bonnet and in cameras view and it meets legal size requirements as with a fmic there is no place for a plate and they said at pitsea police station it was fine and no more was ever said i hope this helps ya out all the best bud
