Hi Symon
The Gathering, itself, was a one off and not an annual event, I'm afraid. There is a cheque presentation to Jimmy Mcrae in August though.

The venue at Chester is the same one used for the 1995 51st Network Q RAC Rally & is fittingly where Colin won his last world title.

Have been checking the McRae Gathering forum regularly, but no updates on there.
We were planning to take a run up - but August is starting to look rather busy..........what with the MLR.
We will see nearer the time - but any excuse for a good run out in the Scoob has got to be considered!
Also, the same weekend our very own Kev D is racing on the Saturday no far away, so it could be a good double!!

Its been over 2 months since we announced the revised date of the
presentation of funds to Jim McRae and, although it may seem that
nothing much is going on, we are steadily working our way through our
“To Do” list behind the scenes and organising the finale of the event.
More information about the day, including access times, parking
arrangements and timetable for the afternoon, will be provided soon.
If you are planning to come to Chester on 9th August and have not
already voted in our poll, please do so... it helps us keep track of
anticipated numbers.
In the meantime, we are very excited to announce that our Shop is now
live and we have commissioned a new polo shirt to celebrate the finale
of the event.
We have decided to go for black polo shirts with red/white panelling
along the sleeves and shoulders. They have the “colinmcraevision” on the
front and we are delighted that the family have given us approval to use
this logo.
You are also able to buy A1 posters that we were selling at the end of
last year.
We still have some signed posters and also Limited Mosaic Prints numbers
2 to 6 in our possession and plan to release them on eBay in the next
couple of weeks...
Unfortunately we have lost our records when we switched servers and you
need to Create an Account in our Shop before you are able to buy.
It is nice to see that Colin McRae Motorsports : Homepage is now live and more
information about the charity and future plans can be found here.

Just ordered a shirt for now.
About 230 miles to get there for me if I go so just thinking about it at the moment. I would probably go up on the Saturday afternoon & stay over till the Monday morning.

This could be another biggy.
Well as of 10.30pm today there are 717 people that have voted "Yes" to going & 81 that are "Undecided".
My shirt came yesterday & very smart it is to. Black with red and white panelling along the shoulder and sleeve.
I have decided to go up on the Saturday before & stay at the CLICK for Holiday Inn Express Chester Racecourse which is located in the grounds of Chester Racecourse where the handover is being done. So a nice leisurely breakfast & then a quick wipe over of the car before the presentation takes place at 1pm. I think there are things taking place into the evening so it will be back to the hotel Sunday night & a steady drive home after breakfast Monday morning.

good to see you've got your polo shirt mark/flat eric
you may not need to stay on the Sunday night, we're planning to wrap things up by 2pm.
Most of the displays and things to see will be available from 12 noon - 2pm.
I'm finalising the schedule for the day and plan to put info like parking arrangements, entry times, timetable for the day on the Gathering website this weekend.
the racecourse is an impressive venue and I'm sure there will be a cracking atmosphere.
cheers,

I can cancel the room for Sunday night at short notice & in a way would prefer to drive back on the Sunday rather than dice with the workday traffic on Monday. I'll be keeping an eye on the Gathering website for updates.
