Thumbs up Scuba Diving - Who wants to have a go?

Another ESC Hobby....

I have been meaning to gauge interest in this for a while now…
So then who fancies trying out Scuba Diving at a local Dive centre In their nice warm swimming pool ??
I think the cost is just £12 – will confirm this,
Will sort out dates etc when have some interest!
Kids over 10 and Adults welcome – Just put your name down
If you want anymore information just ask!
Why Discover Scuba Diving?
The PADI Discover Scuba Diving program lets you experience the thrill of diving under the supervision of a PADI Professional in pool or pool-like conditions. During your adventure, you'll master some basic concepts and scuba skills and might even head off to experience an open water adventure.

What do I need to start?
  • Minimum age: 10
  • A completed and signed Discover Scuba Diving brochure
What will I do?
When you participate in a Discover Scuba Diving program, you discover excitement and adventure - freedom and serenity. Nothing compares to the "weightless" exhilaration of breathing underwater. Only a diver knows the feeling!

How long will it take?
Get ready to dive today. Whether you watch the short PADI Discover Scuba video, or are briefed with the Discover Scuba Diving Flip Chart, you'll enter the water quickly and ready for your scuba adventure.

What will I need?
  • A sense of adventure
  • Discover Scuba Diving brochure
Where can I go from here?
As soon as you Discover Scuba Diving, you're on your way to an internationally recognized certification. That's because you may learn skills used in the PADI Open Water Diver course during your Discover Scuba Diving adventure. If you and your instructor elect to practice these skills, they may be credited toward the PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certifications.

I've done this but would encourage everyone to give it a go, it really does open up a whole new world for you.

When not in use round you neck

Scoobydoo diving very good.

Hope this doesn't stir up any SIALt on the bottom.

If you can hold your breath long enough you don't need tanks. Free diving I think they call it.

I'm the 2nd one. Taken 3 months after I left hospital and in the Maldives.

Not allowed in the sun because I was covered in scars, flying was a bit dodgy with the threat of blood clots so Maldives seemed like a logical destination. Scuba diving was the icing on the cake. I did get a bit told off by my consultant when I got back with a sun tan

Actually I just thought how incredibly stupid that holiday was.

I remember being nervous walking through the metal detectors at Dubai airport becuase of all the metalwork in ym body, didn't give a 2nd thought to suitcase full of medicinal grade heroin (morphine) in my suitcase. Given their stance on drug taking (zero tolerance) I could have been looking at life imprisonment, that wouldn't have gone down well.

I did scuba diving a few years back in Corfu - thought it was great fun - seeing all those fishes - then some do-nut kicked me in the head with their flipper (which hurt v.much). Still, it didn't ruin the day too much and would defo do it again

Just to add my little bit -

I've also done this, in fact I qualfied as a Rescue Diver about 6 years ago and it is without exception the most brilliant hobby I have ever had and as someone said earlier it opens a whole new world up to you.

My only regret is that I no longer have the time to do it - hopefully I will be able to pick it up again in years to come.

IMHO it's one of the things everyone has to try, take the chance peeps I doubt you will regret it.
