I know I have to remove the front part of the dash with the a/c and heater controls and I know there are twp screws hidden behind the cup holder but im not sure if there are any more or if the front will just pull off.
I am sure I will work it out easy enough when I try it

I had a quick look last night and after quite a bit of force as it was well attached the surround does come off and I think there might be the traditional 4 holes under it, it might just be a case of some pins after all I will let you know for sure after I fit the new one tonight!
How stupid do I feel now then

Well I may be blonde and a bit of a fool at times, but I have fitted a few stereo's in my time.. just seemed a bit odd that they made one stereo just for your car - hopefully you will remove it with out taking your dash board apart - as normally you will always have screws left after and it never is quite right again

If anyone is interested, I fitted the head unit on Friday night.
The old head unit did have the holes for the pins on the front but after a few tries I still could not get it to shift so 2 screws and 3 mins later half the dash was off and the old head unit was out
So I now play CD's and my iPod and not just the radio
