Rear knock advice
Not be about much laterly, but hope to get out and about a bit more in the summer. If I get this sorted
I know it's hard to figure out a noise fault without hearing it, but my classic wagon has developed a noise.
It's a metalic knock, on pull away. The noise is only heard inside the car with the windows open, but quite loud from outside the car.
I stripped the rear discs off today and although the handbrake shoes are worn the springs and internals seem fine. I cleaned all the brake system up and refitted and it's still making the noise.
Applying the brake lightly on pull away makes no difference.
I'm really looking for somewhere local that maybe you can recommend. I'm in Dagenham and need to find somewhere that can check it out soon for me.
Cheers in advance.

Strange thing is I only get the noise when the car reaches 15mph from pull away...if I slow down to below 15, then accelerate, no noise! It'sonly from tationary and clearsat 20mph ????
Can a CV joint make a noise if its on the way out?

Is it definately coming from the rear end of the car?
Could be a heat shield vibrating or something like that
