Honest question - What would you have :)
OK, I know it's a Scooby Forum, but views please.....
What would you have?
Escort Cosworth (last of the 4x4 Cossies)
Focus RS Mk1 (future classic?)
Focus ST (good car, dirt cheap new on scheme!)
or should I bite the bullet and....
Focus RS Mk2 (sell a kidney!)

Focus RS...arent they a pants drive ?
Focus ST..nearly bought one..ten a penny...no residual value whatsoever,still a nice car tho`
Focus RS2..I would wait until used ones start to come up...unless you have money to burn....
I had these decisions when I was looking around...in the end I bought a 3 door Cossie.....not so many about...rwd fun and I would hope will not lose much if any value as such few numbers around now....circa 1200 left ...
Obviously a weekend toy and not daily driver.....for that its a Mondeo (Mundano)ST Tdci...silly mpg , put 25 quid in her and she returned 320miles !! and quite a nippy comfortable drive...

Okay... my opinion only,
Escort cossie, big no no.
Clearly the best looking car here, however, the youngest ones are now 12 years old. Still based on a Sierra floorpan that actually never drove quite as nice as the Sierra. Most by now are rusting. The engines are pretty bombproof but costly to maintain. They also consume 1ltr of oil every 620miles in standard guise... modified ones use a little more. The only one that would be a nice dailky drive would be one with mega low mileage on it and then you wouldnt want to be driving it every day. Also pretty boring below stage 3 or 330bhp.
Hold their value amazingly well, but only as a 2nd car only. 10 years ago id of get one, but not now. Get one for the weekends if you can afford it, otherwise steer clear.
Focus RS, possibly.
Dont belive all the torque steer sh1te, these are mega to drive. Not going to set the world alight with 212bhp but always felt quicker than they were. Zetec turbo is pretty strong and very reliable. Easily upgraded too with some simple mods. Stunning chassis and will run rings around similar powered scoobs and evos. Get one on a B road and you'll be baiting 911s too.
Deffo future classic, still look smart, can be park in places you cant park an escort cossie and alos cheaper to run. Interiors a bit naff and the seats are a little to be desired, but other than that a cracking car for good money and it will hold that money too. Nice daily drive if you ask me.
Focus ST, not for me.
Great car, juicy, 2 a penny , feel quite heavy... personally i wouldnt have one. But bang up to date, quiet, comfortable and very family friendly.
Cost of fuel and running doesnt equal the performance though imo.
Dreamscience remap helps loads for £500 though
Focus RS MK2...
Stunning car, but wait for a while... i wont say anymore
For me it would the the original Focus RS hands down
Can be modded to epic standards too, just check out my fav on Passionford

although the one in the pic is a normal focus shell with all the rs goodies on it if it's the one i'm thinking of (was in ff a few months back). bloke will only have white cars. so instead of buying a focus rs and having it resprayed, he went with standard and done the conversion. bit if you ask me.

Daily driver would have to be the ST for me, especially as you can get discount and probably a cracking deal on one.
Gotta be in white though
Although the new RS is a stunning looking car

Its got to be the focus rs mk1. The escort i love, you couldnt use everyday. The st i would have thought you'll lose a shed load of money.
From experience of driving the mk1 rs, they are excellent!

Ian,
Quite werid this, but i logged on to the kite forums this morning and one of the guys has posted this for sale...
Im not normally interested in buying a car on Ebay, but after checking the guys posts out etc he looks genuine.
Just check out the mileage, could well be worth a drive?
Ford Focus RS ? mint condition, low mileage on eBay, also, Ford, Cars, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 10-Apr-09 20:14:20 BST)

Frayz,
Looks like a decent car... A little early for me as I need to keep the Fezzer until Aug. but planning next one before hand.
As I said I'm 50:50 split between RS and ST, I like idea of ST as we can get super deals that will will avoid loosing from new and I've driven it a few times and was quite impressed as a bit of a GT car....?
The RS though will hold it's money though but I'm not sure as I don't tend to keep them long enough to worry about that
As for FRP...
As a few people will tell you on here... it's on my list of cars to own, but too small at the mo.
I've had a 1.7 Puma before and was impressed though for what it is...
