Default European Rallycross @ Lydden Hill, Monday 13th April

After a 12 year absence from our shores, The European Rallycross Championship is back, and the opening round is at Lydden Hill in Kent. This is not to be missed by any motorsport enthusiast, as it involves the fastest, closest racing I know. 650bhp is the norm. Marcus Gronholm and Henning Solberg are rumoured to be competing amongst some others tbc.

And to top it all, I found out today that, the guest commentator will be........

Murray Walker.

So who's up for watching some real motorsport?

1. The GreenWagon Mob.
2.
3.
4.
5.

P.S. it's my 40th that day too.

Nah, that would involve buying loads of kites and a buggy to be pulled around in.

Would be funny to see, I'm sure the circuit could lend you a fork lift.

Indeed, had my first one at 30, must be due another one soon.

Would a weekends clubbing until the small hours, closely followed by going to rave at a Prodigy concert count?

Almost as bad as Arkwrights MLC then......................

Kayaks - we now own 6 of them - not bad for a family of three...

Thing is we have to get up a stupid o'clock on a Sunday to go for a paddle!

My MLC - hit at the same time as (long awaited) redundancy = Scooby!!

Hi Bri4n - just wanted to check - was it Medway Services you said you guys meet up at for this? I know you said it was an early start!

Me & Ark were thinking of going on the Sunday too, so might just stop down overnight as it will be as cheap as driving home & back again.

Looking forward to it.

Hi Hilary.

1st meet point will be Thurrock (probably 7-7:30am) then meet up with Kent Scoobies at Medway services. I just need them to confirm timings etc.

If you guys go on the Sunday, remember not to rush down there. No racing, of any kind, till after mid-day on the Sabbath, due to their strict curfew rules.

We had checked on the website and wondered why it was such a late start on the Sunday. Now we know. I suppose it might bother the local godbotherers bothering god. It`s a good job I did`nt stutter that one.
Anyway I better go and take another pill.

Theres no way I'm missing this (though I'm currently without Scoob, so I haven't added myself to the "official" attendance list); the appearance of Gronholm seems unlikely given he's dabbling with the WRC again, but irrespective its still going to be a brilliant day.

Realistically counting theres going to be 30+ supercars (Division 2), though *optimism hat on* that figure could exceed 40...

Is the Impreza going to get rallied? Both Simon Horton and Kevin McCann were mentioned on the Ten-Tenths site as not being eligable for the ERC? I was sure that was wrong though?

Pretty much the best circuit I've been too for viewing. The only part thats slightly obscured is the Joker section - the rest of the track can be seen from pretty much everywhere though.
