What is the visual differnce between a 1998 impreza wrx and a 1998 Sti ?

not much by now mate, they'll of all had a few bits changed on them

as standard, main visual difference would have been wheels, spoiler, colour coding to side skirts and rear spats, seats, bumpers, brake calipers were 4 pots i think not 2 on the sti. sure there's a few more bits.

STi has front fog covers, also pink front grille badge, probably front wing STi oval badges. I think 98 was another change over year, if it's a version 4 with the early front bumper, the large bottom grille will have body coloured plastic bars on the STi as apposed to plain black on the WRX. Not sure on the version 5 on the front bumper but the spolier on v5 is much bigger, v4 is mid level.
