Thanks Xtreme Scoobies
Ok Here's a new service which i'd never heard of:-
Brake Disc Resurfacing:-
On looking at my discs, they were pretty badly scored and it was suggested i might like to try having them resurfaced, using this new "on the car - cutter" gadget thing.
anyway i thought, yep, give anything a try.
so wheels off, machine on, a few things bolted on and a few buttons pressed, next thing i know 2 cutters are passing across the surface of my disc and taking a few thousandths of an inch off it. i have 2 freshly machined front discs.
i didnt renew the pads at the time, as they are only 1/4 worn, so expected to have to rebed these in a bit, and what can i say??
well, i really didnt notice any judder beforehand, but i guess there was some amount there as the car now brakes so quietly, positively and effortlessly.
i am absolutely gobsmacked as to how much difference this made to my car and if there is anyone suffering from distortion or slight brake judder, i would 100% recommend giving this a go.
also as this cutting is taking place on the actual car, i'm guessing it eliminates some of the compound errors that occur when removing them for regrinding.
well happy
