Wouldn't of thought so, security have not got any powers to do such things.
Their job is to secure buildings etc, speeding drivers are usually caught by scam cams or worse still, pcso's.

I've seen cars end up in the ditch where people take the last bend before the roundabout too fast, have head on collisions with tankers on the same bend, and car losing control, going sideways and hitting tankers.
I've worked there for 10 years, and a lot of people don't realise how dangerous the road actually is

Will watch my speed now, thanks for the warning.

yup the bend that Paul mentions is a bit lairy. know a few poeple that have come unstuck on that road.
trouble is people take it faster than they can control, lift off part way through the bend and end up with lift off oversteer and getting themselves in trouble. keep your foot in and may stand a better chance. even better still don't go hooning round it in the first place, it's just too dangerous. those trucks don't exactly hang about down their either.

I used to work down there for BP and got an email from the head of security letting me know I had been clocked well in excess of the speed limit whilst travelling to work. They couldn't do anything about it but it was a "friendly" warning. The police have set up cameras down there a few times, but luckily was never caught, most of the time the cameras were there were the days I cycled in!
Got stuck at work one day when a guy in an MR2 lost it on the bend and got taken away in a body bag. They closed the road for 3-4 hours when we wanted to go home!

A couple of years ago, a scaffold lorry had to brake sharply and the poles went through the cab because someone jumped the lights at the top.
A car was going too fast at the said bend, and ended upside down in the ditch, the car couldn't be seen from the road and the ditch was half filled with water. It was only blind luck that the BP cameras caught the incident and got there sharpish.
a friend wrote his 3 week old bandit off after hitting a diesel spill, and he wasn't going fast (coming up to the cat cracker round about)
A car ploughed straight into the back of a tanker just past the lights heading towards the A13, driver was killed instantly.
Sweeping right hand bend after the lights, heading towards the refinery, a scoob lost control at the thurrock football club junction, and was written off.
Same junction, a friend was driving into work when a car pulled straight out of the same junction right in front of him, writing both cars off.
A few year ago, when the road was being re-tarmaced, one of my ex colleagues jumped the lights and sped off trying to race someone after the night shift and ended up driving the wrong way up the dual carriageway.
3 cars again belonging to people on the Calor night shift were playing around and had a 3 car pile up at the cat cracker.
Numerous cars bouncing off the railings, again at the cat roundabout.
That road demands respect!

One day they will get hurt, and blame it all on the motorist that hit them.

Can usually hear all kinds of engines late at night, bikes mainly going up A13, can hear them all the way to M25 some nights! oh, its only ANOTHER bike going past.

Your right mate, they even got a marking disc to work out a 1/4!!!! Know a few of the people that organise it but now the police have clocked on and always turn up!
Very bad road to be doing this on and echo the above comments! A lad on a motorbike crashed there a few weeks back after mis judging the corner but he got off lightly and walked away! bike didn't!

I used to fish at Woodies behind the Bull, you could hear cars going up and down most of the evening. Never heard anything that sounded organised though, although mainly fished weeknights rather than weekends.
