ESC Newsletter
After chatting with Tiny, I will be taking over the newsletter. and I think a big thanks is owed to Matt for his efforts
I know this isn't going to be easy as the main problem is the lack of people submitting articles, so could we make it third time lucky please people!
I know from the past, there are some great writers out there, and there has been some very entertaining articles done, but the club is only as good as it's members and this really is a team effort.
As it's pretty quiet on the event side of things at the mo, ff you have got any ideas/suggestions to fill the empty pages, please let me know.
As mentioned, if you want the newsletter to stay, I need your help.

Paul what have you done
A real poisoned chalice this one, everything Matt said is true. The person putting it all together is only half the story, EVERYONE needs to contribute.
If we want a newsletter everyone has to try and contribute something.

If it's any consolation I think the Success of the ESC on SNet is possibly at the expense of the newsletter.
Everything you need to know is here and everything that happens gets posted here.
Apart from club visibility, the newsletter will only ever be out of date ?
www.EssexScoobyCrew.co.uk on everyones cars spreads the word so to speak
Just thinking out loud, if we can make it work great

Thanks everyone.
I do fully understand the predicament with the newsletter, most events are relived on the forums, and so the question of the current format is pretty dubious to be honest, what's the point of going over what's already been posted, also by the end of the month, the review could be a month old.
What I was thinking, is having more detailed future events for each month, including birthdays and any other important dates.
Also, as I'm just starting this and have no reviews, I intend to do something similar to what Spally done with info about members, but using companies relevent to the ESC, for example, ABW, Mocom Racing and so on.
If anyone has any idea's, I would like to hear them.
Matt, if you could Email me the logo's, that would be great, thanks mate!!

You will be suprised @ the amount of times i'am asked for a newsletter , We have lots of people attending are meets who never even know this place exists
Just have a look round @ the next posers cruise , See who you recognise , I Think it is needed , But perhaps as paul suggests with a facelift

I think your idea Paul for
having more detailed future events for each month

That's slightly different to a newsletter though. Club flyers for shows and meets is a good idea but I am not sure that's what we have traditionally had as a newsletter
I think your idea Paul for is a good one and would fit in well with a Club Flyer type publication for meets and shows

It's my intention to slightly steer away from the traditional newsletter, I don't want to chase people up for reviews, as this (IMO) has caused friction in the past.
Dazza, nice idea mate

Paul, if you want me to do any write ups i am more than willing. although as has been said this needs input from more than 1 or 2 members, otherwise the same sort of write ups will be there month after month.
Just shout if you need a hand with anything matey.

I've just finished a sample newsletter for October, though it's definately a work in progress!
I'm thinking about starting the member profile again with the following questions: Feel free to add more questions. Also, if anyone would care to answer them, please PM me

This is your newsletter, do you want to see it continue? if so, what do you want in it? All suggestions (well, most) are welcome

What about a monthly 'FAD' feature,
We could talk about who started the fad how long it took Tiny to get sucked into it and finally the amount of (insert fad) products bought.
On a more sensible note a feature on newbies mods may be of interest as most of you/us have been there and done it as far as mods are concerned the newer scoob owners will now be buying their 1st exhaust system, weighing up the pros and cons of a dump valve etc.
Another feature could be a profile of what services members can offer for example:
YVM - Kitchens & Bathrooms and a brief piece on what he does any members who has used him taht sort of stuff, this could obviously act as an aside to the jobs thread on scoobynet.

Good points there David!
I've PM'd several members regarding articles, and if it goes to plan, the newsletter will (at the moment) be 8 pages long.
So far it will contain:
1 title page
4 Member reviews
1 page for upcoming events
1 Occupation page
If Frayz want to write up a brief technical page, he's more than welcome to do so.
If it all goes to plan, I should have a newsletter ready for the Lodge, covering the rest of september and october.
Thanks for all your comments so far!!

My laser printer working flat out!!
75% of the newsletter has been printed, just waiting for the last article to be PM'd to me Then it's ready for the Lodge meet.
Thanks to everyone who's contributed to the 8 pager!!
Hope everyone likes it!
I now need 4 wiiling contributers for the November edition if everyone can copy, paste and fill in this questionnaire, that would be great!!

Just to add, i dont want a tech section thanks.
I write enough info online when its required. If people want to know something they generally ask here or shoot me a PM.
Im happy to answer questions if i can.
I just dont have the time or inclination to do it on paper etc.
Thanks anyway.
