cars before 31 March 2001 I think have a flat rate (split into two bands) if your car is new - style plate, then your stuffed too mate.

write to your MP and complain.
The more that do, then they will notice that they are loosing voters the more chance it will change don't just complain do something about it.

£900 showroom tax

what a joke

I think its discrmination - if you're single you can own a small car thats low on tax

if you have children you need a bigger car which have bigger engines, therefore higher tax bands

who's better off to start with and then doesnt have to pay as much tax!!!!

I have lost all faith in this country

Amazing isn't it with new cars having lower emissions than old bangers.

In short you are screwed whether you keep the 'ol girl, or chop her in for a new one.

This government is supposed to be supportive of the family. In this instance they definately aren't sticking to their pledge!

So, in this ever increasing problem of more traffic, are we supposed to take the family on a day out in two Fiat 500s instead of the one saloon car? Surely running 2 cars will burn more fuel, take up more room on the road. etc. etc.

Stupid idea this.

Every week there is yet another piece of new legislation against the motorist (increase in fuel duty, congestion charging in other cities, raising charge in London, toll roads, more speed cameras, car tax rates, single occupancy lanes). Haven't we been targeted enough for now? There are sooo many other areas which need addressing leave us alone!
