I have just picked up my new sonic blue 98 prodrive. and i really like the rally graphics i have seen on a few cars. what are peoples thoughts on these. i know taste is a personal thing just interested to find out.

has anyone had them and taken them off?
do they damage the paint?
Do they make the car worth less?
Has anyone got them?

do they damage the paint? Yes - lifted some paint, and even where not damaged, you could still see the 'ghosting' of where they had been, despite 2 attempts by Mneame to polish them out.
Do they make the car worth less? Yes!
Has anyone got them? Loads of people have them, as you suggest it is totally personal choice

surely the ghosting is only certain colours tho. the spec'C's were on for 18 months ish altho always garaged and only did abot 4k. and that left no marks at all.

It was white though mate so ghosting wouldnt have been as noticable as a darker coloured car.

I love them!....I know obviously it's personal taste and I am sure that some people look at my car and hate it, but I don't and that is what matters. I am currently looking for another set 'just in case' any of mine get damaged etc. The ony problem I have found is you have to be careful when washing the car .... don't rub too hard (pardon the pun) and be careful with your pressure washer!

Good luck, can't wait to see them if you do.

Funny you should mention graphics, mine is in on Friday for a full set of WRC banana graphics. I've got a silver classic and going for black 555 bananas with orange shadows.

It's different but i want it to stand out amongst the thousands with stars and swooshes etc, hopefully should look the b*//*cks.

I say go for it. It shouldn't be too bad on the body/paint if you don't like them or sell the car and take them off before they have been on for too long.

it depends what vinyls are used - cheap stuff does not let UV's thru and will give you the ghosting effect.

stuff i use costs a lot more but it lets UV thru which helps the paint fade at pretty much the same rate as uncovered area's, it also wont shrink.

Tiny had his stickers on from 02 - 06 IIRC and he had no probs at all with the paint or removal - just no fingernails left lol

RobRoy had a slight problem with some paint coming off when he removed one of the large swooshes area.

Personally I think the paint jobs on Subaru's is crap and about a micron thick its amazing how it dont strip off at the high speeds we do lol

Do not buy Graphics of the internet!!!
You'll pay for it in the long run. You think you'll getting them cheap but you will have shed loads of problems fitting them. there normally cheap monomeric vinyl which will fade/crack & shrink. save yourself some money & pay the going price to have them done by some one who knows what there doing
