HI guys as per title, just wanted to know how to tell if my 93 wrx is an RA , as some people have stated that an RA has no air con etc.. but other people have stated that air con etc.. came as an optional extra with an RA ??

any help would be great.

Air con was an optional extra on the RA, have a look at the VIN plate and compare it to this

RA should have code GC8A47D or GC8B47D at that age.

other ra clues - no abs, no electric windows, no central locking, ally boot and bonnet, less sound deadening, short ratio gearbox (will be sitting at about 4k revs at 70), intercooler water spray sure there's a few more bits. all normal bits were available options though i think.

Boot is just steel not alloy. Other bits are 5th injector, plain black door handles and mirrors, alloy bottom arms, 2 pot brakes on front as standard, no fog light covers, no body kit and no rear spoiler unless it was fitted after. Some have aircon some do not just depends on what was speced from new.

Early ones had closed deck block and oil sprays were fitted under the pistons.

I'm sure GC8 will be along soon to tell you thats it's the cheapest car in the range

think my boot is an ally one. can check it tonight with paint gauge. it's a whole lot lighter than my old wrx one was.

2 pots were standard on all early imprezas. the 4 pots didn't come in till the facelift iirc.

eta - i thought all ra models wrx and sti had the cdb?

Matt isn't your boot lighter as you have no spoiler

yeah loads lighter now because of that. was just thinking back to when the ra had the low level spoiler that was fitted as an option from the factory.
