Default Suspension advice please...

Hi chaps,

Need some advice please as I have a knocking sound coming from the rear. Believe it is the top mounts so looking to upgrade the rest of the suspension as well.

I have posted this up on the project thread so if you have any advice/suggestions, please let me know.

Many thanks

if you go for coilovers all i'd say is get some that are damper adjustable and stick them on soft for the road!

my car now gives me back ache on a long run.

Dazza - Wasn't the harsh ride why you changed to Gaz shocks?

Ross,

Just a quick thought before you condemn the top mounts, I had that issue with my wagon, a certain reputable Subaru company, diagnosed the problem and changed them for me, but this failed to cure the knock, (the following discussions and poor outcome caused me not to return there again).
The issue ended up being the bushes on the whiteline ARB needed lubricating!

no i changed to gaz shocks because i was informed one of the suspension legs was faulty (knocking), but when Zak inspected it, it was just the top mount, so quite happy to sell these on in good faith.

these dampers can be just as harsh, if not harsher than the Cusco's, when dialled in!!! lol

also, i will be 40 this year!!!, pipe and slippers on order!!!

Thanks fella... I did think the knock may have been the links/arbs so I had all the drop links and arbs changed with new Perrin ones so it shouldn't be that.

Process of elimination can be expensive but gives an excuse to spend on the car .

Cheers fella.... nice little bit of bling ..

They work too, which is main thing! Feels so much more positive with the arbs as well!! But I want MORE!!

Pretty sure I'll go for the Variant 3 as suggested by Frayz. Just waiting call back from Zak.

go for the track spec setup too. take the hit on the tyre wear as the difference it makes is amazing.

Wil do ..

Don't do that many miles anyway so not worried about tyre wear...

Hoping to get it all sorted by end of the summer so I can squeeze in a track evening or two before the dark nights set in.
