Default The Phoenix is rising !!!!

oh yes,
as you might remember, i was getting a bit cheesed off with the car, however, after a quick 180 degree change of plan, the grin is coming back in spadefuls.

cant say too much as its not quite complete, but lets just say it been sprinkled with some Mocom magic powder, a bolt here, some solder there and it is beginning to be the car i never dreamed it could be...

still heaps to do, but the project is well underway!!!!!

huge thanks to Zak and Luke for their immediate availability and ability to drop what they were doing (drinking coffee and chatting) and start on this for me, and superb advice!!

and again thanks to frayz for his time and effort in explaining what things do and why they do what they do and when they do it, and what happens if something doesnt do what it should do... etc etc etc....

off to see the bank manager now

Really should crack on with my car, hasn't been used much and 1/4 of a tank has lasted about 3 weeks.

I've found out what the tapping is now, one of the hydraulic lifters has gone and an injector is noisy, coincidentally both on No. 4 cylinder.
Still got to pick up some bolts for the engine.

Just got to get my act together now

I'm hoping to update the projects thread on mine too, but held up due to a sodding bearing... ...hopefully tomorrow!

So looking forward to picking it up!

RossiP, car was looking mint mate must admit my eyes were also drawn to the rear wheels, for some reason

phase 1 complete and 3/4 tank of mapping later, starting to take shape.

if anyone doesn't know Zak and Luke, i have to say they are top fellas and as i said to my "bufty" mate today, it was a real pleasure to be involved in the work and doing the live mapping with Zak, that alone is a huge experience and will never be forgotten.

i'm really getting into this "steep" learning curve and the icing on the cake tonight was banging down upminster high street "Atkinson" styleee!!!!

saving up for some other bits now and then off we go.....

never look back... onwards and upwards!!!

hopefully AndyW will teach me to drive next week, so its all coming together.

thanks for the nice words folks, proper ESC style!!!

see you at a meet soon

Dazza
.............where did i put those keys now??

Chuffed for you Dazza. Nothing worse than loosing faith in a motor.

But a sprinkle of Mocom magic dust & hey presto you are at the start of a whole new venture.
