Default Bregrudging Respect - Schumacher

Those that know me well, will know that I have deeply despised Schumacher, every since he showed his true colours with Damon Hill in Australia, and again with Villeneuve. plus constant speculation that rules were being bent to the limit if not completely ignored, but......

After retiring last year, he turns up again at the end of the season, and without having driven for a year is still quicker than all. Now, in testing today, again with no practice he is only 0.1 sec behind the current world champion.

Hate him as I do, even I have respect for that, in truth it would appear his retirement was too early.

no, no, no. He was third behind his successor and the personality-devoid finn. Think of it in those terms and you'll be fine.

That's one of those questions that can never be truely answered.

Two different generations, the only time they were together was when one was towards the end of his career (ignoring his accident) and one at the beginning.

You can't ignore the record books, and therefore Schmachers record is the best, but look at who he raced against, and then look at who Senna was up against. Prost, Piquet, Mansell, etc and all together.

Lastly take a look at the 1st lap Donnington 1993 - for me there is the answer.

YouTube - Ayrton Senna Donington 1993

Anyone that has driven Donnington will know how awsome the Craner curves are, and to do someone on the outside, in the wet, in a second rate car, wel.........Truley
