Question Port OEM Headers or replace ??

I'm going to either get my OEM Headers ported or fit a aftermarket set at the same time as getting my APS CAI fitted.

What sort of experienes have people had with either ??

Looking at GTSPEC2 Headers which i've been led to belive are a good set up.

Get in touch with Slowboy-racing.co.uk

I think he does an exchange for £100-125? Something like that?

Yeah Zak said that Essexboy & himself run the GTSPEC.

I think i'm gonna get the OEM ones ported, from what i can make out by replacing the OEM ones i'll increase the boost threshold, and give more top end gains.

The cars only used on the road so i'm more after increased midrange and torque

Sounds like there's plenty of Ported OEM headers about then.

Not sure if it's be cheaper to buy Frayz or Essexboys' ones or get Zak to just port mine ?? Zak quoted £175 to remove mine, port them and then refit with new gaskets

Yeah so i've been told Frayz. Got a few little things planned for the near future, hoping the APS & the porting should help the mix, wanna get summin like 330-340 with good midrange in the end.

Any other suggestions much appreciated lol

With your stock turbo it should be more than pokey enough in the middle, maybe a turbo swap should be next on the cards.

18g would mix it up nice

Chers Frayz, just reading what Zak recomended, and most of that is related to reducing charge and inlet tempertures, so i'll have a look into that and maybe see about some other things after Zmas is out the way

Depends on how far you really want to go mate. What do you feel you are looking for from the car?

Id say a turbo and adjustable fuel pressure regulator would be your best next bang for buck mate.

To go much more than you have now,.. you need a bigger blower.

It's only ever gonna be used on road so all i'm looking for is a car thats fast across country with loads of low down grunt from any gear, so torques more important to me than top end power.

Something thats gonna be able to overtake without having to change down 2 gears, so spool from as low as 2500 RPM would be good and be able to pull all the way to 6500 RPM

Maybe i should just buy summin with a nice big V8 lol
