Angry Not Very Happy

I picked my car up from ESB lastnight after they had done a service to it and was told it has some major problems with it. I was told that the gearbox is leaking oil badly and that someone has used sealant to hide the leak!! . I bought the car 9 months ago form a dealership and it came with 6 months warranty. i know that it has to be either the dealer or the previous owner that has tried to hide this . Im sure i remember the dealer telling me that his mechanic went " all over it" when it first arrived. I cant believe i find this out 3 months after the warranty has run out!!! TYPICAL.

Any advice much appriciated

The Simple answer is not a lot

However I would before berating or naming the dealer go an see them in a calm manner and ask the question

Sorry to hear of your find!
I would like to think that if the dealers mechanic "checked all over" and "all was well" that they would have noticed the dodgey repair, and either tell you and knock the price down, or repair it before selling... makes me wonder if the dealer did know, and didnt tell?
Dependant on where the leak is, could you not get it welded? I know someone who does weld boxes.
