Ref's Report.
Copy to :-
- -
To whom it may concern.
Having refereed a series of matches between the ESC New Age & the ESC Classics I wish to report the unsportsmanlike behaviour of the Classics team.
If I heard it once I must have heard it a thousand times :-
" Ref Ref that's not fair Ref ".
Usually screamed in a shrill girly manner. Get over it.
Despite the constant barracking & intimidation by the Classics each match reached a fair & fitting conclusion.
On a more serious note. A close family member (Jess) was both accosted & manhandled on the sideline by two members of the Classics team.
This was done with the sheer intention of trying to influence my refereeing decisions in these matches.
Jess was both shocked & surprised by the physical nature of this effrontery.
And wants to know when you will be playing again so she can make sure that she's there. You go girl.
Mark

cracking write up there Mark.
Even though i didn't agree with some of your "refeering" decisions, fair play. You controlled the games in a way any ref that has been bribed would!!! ha ha ha
Only kidding great day, glad Jess enjoyed the attention.

hobbling around today like i've done 10 rounds with tyson....
need to go out for a walk to loosen up
hopefully do it all again soon - fantastic day with great friends
edited to say: i cant believe how unfit i've become..... used to be able to play football all day long and then go out on bikes, and still have energy for an hour of tennis in the evening, when at school. - now i get puffed out crossing the road.
hopefully the kites will provide some much needed exercise!!!
off to check out the wind in a minute!!

All I can say for the classics is "we was robbed"
Is that the result for rounders 22 - 15 or the number of players on each side.....

matt, let me quickly explain.
classics average age = 8yrs with 12 players
newage average age = 38yrs with 22 players
think that just about sums it up!! lol
but to be fair the newage did have less players when they were fielding, but their batting que grew by the second!!! lol

Can we Burn the Bails in memory of a great match?
Just thought it would be somthing we could play for in the future
Just an Idea
Or the Bat might be a better choice

I have taken into account the angle of the camera, the height of the sun, the wind direction, the length of the shadows and the position of Tiny's arm in relation to his legs & the degree of bend in his torso.
And my finding is that this photograph is not of a bowling action at all. It is showing the traditional pre match Haka where threatening gestures are made to the opposing team. The stance is taken slightly forward of the line thus presenting a more menacing appearance. This can be done solo, as in this case, or can be performed by a team as below.
Notice the similar stance the guy in the middle has to Tiny's. He's leaning forward just before his right arm swings up.
The warrior like "hands on hips" stance is being made in both pictures by the players on the left.
Mark
