Saturday 25th August 6am

This is probably one of the best lakes to fish in Essex. There are plenty of Carp Mirror/Common Tench, Roach, Perch, Zander, Pike, + much more.

My personal best was 2 summers ago fishing a doggy biscuit on the surface and netted a 18lb 4oz common

Best baits for the lake are.....
Trout pellets, Sweetcorn, red maggots, Bollies, and plenty of ground bait.

If you don't get there early then you may not get a space at all, as the lake is always busy.

2 rods cost about £6 on the day.

you can fish 3 if you want too.

Don't forget your fishing rod license as the bailiffs do routine checks every now and then.

Why do you need a license for a fishing rod though ......... They are not exactly dangerous.

What is it for exactly ?

all rivers and lakes are governed by the "NRA" National river authority, who keep check on the rivers/lakes/ keep them clean, stock with fish etc.

Just like a tv license......

I have always fancied laying Baskets (?) to catch crayfish, as 'I believe' the North American Crayfish causes a lot on erosion of the banks ........ + they are very costly to buy.

Deffo up for this, do I take the match rod or the 12m pole?
Rod license all in order, better check out my gear as it hasn't been used for 3 years, due to the DAMN ESC with their too many events

Spoke to Tiny earlier, he and Courtney had a great day today at Nousley, caught loads

But don't ask who caught the most, or why the other people fishing were taking the pee!

Reminded me of what a great day we had there last year

Think it might be time to find the fishing gear again, hope it is not as filthy as when I dragged it out last year, after nearly 20 years

maybe get some more of these

Sorry John, don't want to rock the boat, but why not go back there again?
I know it probably a bit easy for those of you that are really good at fishing, John / kev, but we did have a right crack?

Flame suit on, and runs

i have to agree with you guys on the venue... its a great place for constant fish :-)

I thyought we would try somewhere different due to location and specimen's.

there are fish over 30lb in this lake, and if you fish the far bank you will get some good size fish.

I have lost the phone number for nounsley. sorry :-(

there is another private lake just of the a128 which i'm trying to sort out for us
